Mobile Government is the next inevitable e-direction for the e-government practices. Spread and success of mobile/wireless applications and services all around the world provides an opportunity for governments to exploit these new developments and enhance e-government implementations by moving to the m-government dimension. Mobile Government Consortium International (MGCI) is an International Association for Mobile Government Practitioners. MGCI is committed to be a leading organization in contributing to every aspects of mobile government developments all around the globe.

MGCI aims to foster mobile government practice by providing consultancy and training to governments, non-profit institutions, commercial companies operating in mobile industry and telecommunications sector. It also organizes a series of conferences and workshops all around the world in order provide a forum for discussions and exchange of ideas on mobile government and networking opportunity for mobile government practitioners.

MGCI delivers benefits to participants in its activities covering a broad range of mobile government issues including assessment of mobile readiness, integration and use of m-government infrastructure technologies, adoption and development of m-government applications and services, and m-society: its implications for governance, politics and m-democracy
